Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get my clothes?
When you place your order, you tell us where you'd like your clothes
delivered: to your office, your residence, or even another address.
Once your new garments have been custom-made exactly as you have requested, we package them carefully for international shipment. We use an established world-wide shipping firm to send them directly to the address that you've given us. We prepay all shipping and duties, so that when they reach you--or if you have someone else receive them for you--there are no bills to pay before taking delivery.
How long does it take?
Usually custom tailoring takes 6 weeks to two months, although if the need is urgent, arrangements can be made to expedite part of your order.
What if something doesn't fit?
You will be personally measured by someone with nearly three decades of experience in measuring people of all sizes and shapes, and delivering clothes that fit. And Pierre Custom Clothiers uses the very best Hong Kong tailors, who also have long experience in delivering garments with wonderful fit, so the chance that your garments won't fit is very remote. But should there be a problem with the fit, Mr. Mohan is only a toll-free phone call away, and can deal with any problems, including reimbursing you for any expenses for local alteration of your garments if needed.
Do I have to be measured every time I want to place an order?
Pierre Custom Clothiers keeps your measurements on file. If your measurements haven't changed significantly, you can easily order suits or shirts by telephone, and get more perfectly fitting custom-made garments without even leaving home!
How long does it take to be measured?
The measuring process takes about fifteen minutes. You will want to take some time looking at fabric samples. Mr. Mohan brings a large variety of suit and shirt fabric samples.
Why Pierre Custom Clothiers and not some other Hong Kong tailor?
Pierre Custom Clothiers is a U.S. Company, located in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Mohan grew up in India, learned the tailoring business in Hong Kong, and has lived in the U.S. for the past 27 years. His company, Pierre Custom Clothiers, is a U.S. company, only a free phone call away at any time. Everyone who answers the phone is a fluent English speaker, and can help you.
Think of the alternative, ordering from a Hong Kong tailor who sends a traveling representative to the U.S. perhaps once or twice a year. If your clothes don't arrive, then you have to call Hong Kong, and the phone is likely to be answered in Chinese. And how much can someone in Hong Kong do to solve shipping or customs problems in the U.S.?
